Now entering: New Mexico!
I've just checked into my hotel, set up my CPAP, and got my prep ready for tomorrow's drive.
I stopped for gas somewhere east of Albuquerque, and got a horrible picture through my bug-splattered window at some cool "painted hills". They were throughout AZ and NM so far, along with some neat mesas:
I'm not quite halfway to my destination, but it's been a good trip so far. Truck drivers are generally really great to drive with, as they help with lane changes and pace setting.
The speed limit was 75, and the big rigs were going around 70-75 the whole way, so I matched them as well.
There was a nice mountain pass, around 7000 feet with snow on everything but the road. I imagine going through that in a snow storm would SUCK.
I'm still having fun, even if there is some boredom. I burned through an audiobook, but my next one is 39 hours long so it should take me the rest of the way. Sasha, as amazing as she is, booked my hotel for Arkansas for the next leg of the trip. More updates tomorrow as the trek continues.
Happy Trails!
